Ladybugs and Dandelions

In art school you are taught the rules of colour theory. Knowing these rules helps to plan and make the most of your colour palette. My colour palettes tend to be heavily green and blue, and to keep these colour choices rich and striking, I often add a touch of a complimentary colour. My favourite ways to add colour - and interesting detail - are to add ladybugs and dandelions.

Recently I wrote a haiku to ladybugs:

Shiny scarlet bug

scuttles into the sunshine

Bright basking beetle
